KABUL， Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said Monday that his country is independent and won't be used against any nation.

"Our country Afghanistan is an independent country， will remain independent forever and Afghanistan is not a threat to any country，" Ghani said in his speech at a ceremony to mark the National Day of Security and Defense Forces， at Kabul Military airport.

NANJING, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- A memorial for the victims of Nanjing Massacre was held in the city on Monday, as a prelude for the upcoming first national memorial day.

The mourning activities were held in the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall and will last until Dec. 20.
