THE HAGUE Air Force 1 Sale , March 18 (Xinhua) -- Dutch soccer club AZ Alkmaar have attracted Billy Beane, general manager of the Major League Baseball club Oakland Athletics, for an official advisor role.


The 52-year-old Beane is going to give AZ advice in the areas of high performance and innovation. In almost two decades as GM of the A's Beane has evaluated players based on a statistical analysis and he achieved surprising results with this method.


With his low budget team he beat the big market clubs on a regular base. Beane even became the subject of Michael Lewis' 2003 book on baseball economics, Moneyball, which was made into a 2011 film starring Brad Pitt as Beane.


"I am truly excited for the opportunity to be part of AZ Alkmaar in an advisory role," Beane stated in a press release. "Despite being a great football club with a storied history Air Force 1 Mens , they face many of the challenges we have with the Oakland A's. My love for football and AZ's vision of the future of the club made this an attractive pursuit."

AZ are currently fourth in the Eredivisie, the top tier of Dutch football leagues. They became Dutch champions in 1981 and 2009.


MANILA, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Philippine military said on Monday that they had rescued a Vietnamese sailor taken hostage in November last year by the Abu Sayyaf group based in the southern Basilan province.


The Philippine Navy said the rescued victim as Do Trung Huiqe, a crew member of MV Royal 16, was rescued on Sunday on Mataja Island of Basilan.


"The intensified military offensives caused the Abu Sayyaf (kidnappers) to flee Air Force 1 Womens , and opened a chance for rescue operations," said Rear Admiral Rene Medina, commander of Naval Forces Western Mindanao, in a statement.


Do Trung Huiqe is among the six crew members of MV Royale 16 who were abducted by Abu Sayyaf criminals around 5 a.m. local time last Nov. 11 near Sibago Island in the Basilan Strait, a strait of water separating the islands of Mindanao and Basilan province.


"Do Trung Huiqe will be brought to a military hospital to undergo medical check-up and debriefing prior turning him over to authorities and eventually to the government of Vietnam," Medina said.


Last July Air Force 1 Mid , the military said the Abu Sayyaf beheaded two Vietnamese men sailors, Hoang Trung Thong and Hoang Va Hai, who were kidnapped along with Do Trung Huiqe last year. The military rescued Huang Vo last June.


Last February, the Abu Sayyaf also killed a crew member of another Vietnamese ship MV Giang Hai off Sulu's Pearl Bank and abducted seven others.


The Abu Sayyaf group is still holding at least 20 hostages, according to the military.


Abu Sayyaf jihadist group was set up in the early 1990s with money from al-Qaida group. It is one of the Islamic-extremist groups in the Philippines that pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (IS) notorious for kidnapping for ransom, bombings and robberies in the southern Philippines.


The Abu Sayyaf bandits have hideouts in the remote impoverished provinces of Basilan Air Force 1 Low , Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.

NAIROBI, May 31 (Xinhua) -- Kenya's Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) launched operation on Wednesday Air Force 1 High Tops , becoming the newest addition to the list of Chinese-built railways in Africa that are fast-tracking development and delivering green growth.


The 480-km railway cuts the journey from Kenya's capital to the Mombasa Port, the biggest port in East Africa, from 12 hours to just over four hours. While the railway brings about the much-awaited convenience and efficiency, it also succeeds in accommodating the wildlife movement needs, thus causing minimal interference to the animals.


FASTER, GREENER DEVELOPMENT


Prior to the new 3.8 billion U.S. dollars SGR Air Force 1 High , which is the biggest infrastructure project for Kenya since its independence in 1963, people relied on the two-lane highway (A109) and the century-old meter-gauge railway for road transportation. Neither of the two has been efficient enough to meet the demands of Kenya's rising economy.


Due to lack of maintenance and upgrading, the colonial-era railway has dropped its speed to below 40 kmh and its annual freight volume is less than 1 million tonnes, accounting for less than 10 percent of the total throughput of the Mombasa Port.


The A109 road has long been a problematic alternative, laden with truck traffic and prone to accidents. Overturned trucks are commonplace, paralyzing traffic Air Force 1 , damaging roads, and causing pervasive pollution.


The SGR line has a designed speed of 80kmh for freight trains and 120kmh for passenger trains. One freight train, which can haul a record 200 containers, can get about 100 trucks off the road.


Atanas Maina, managing director of Kenya Railways Corporation, said SGR trains will ferry between 40 and 50 percent of port-bound cargo Cheap Nike Air Force 1 , reducing road damage, accidents and pollution.


The launch of the energy-efficient SGR will also give a leg up to Kenya's tourism industry, a key pillar of the economy, as the line will link the beach and the country's world-famous safari tourism.
