Apart from using my old
salomon schuhe outlet günstig, I don’t really run in shoes quite as built up as Speedcross these days. My preferred training and racing shoes are much lighter (Salomon Sense Pro 4, Inov8 X-Talon 190 & Terraclaw 220) so it’s quite odd pulling them out of the box and seeing that familiar big heel! It’s noticeable how much more rounded the toe box is on the new model. I’ve personally never had a problem with the pointier toe of the older model but I’d imagine this one will be a better fit for many more people. I think aesthetically it makes the shoe a little nicer looking too.I’ve also become accustomed to the look and feel of the built in tongue of the EndoFit tongue/liner of the Sense Pro so the big padded tongue looks a little strange in comparison but it’s definitely pared down from the 3 and sits closer to the top of your foot.

So as part of Salomon’s forthcoming City Trail series I was excited to have the opportunity to test out the new hybrid shoe, the
salomon speedcross 4 gtx damen. This is designed for city based trail runners who want a shoe to combine for comfort and speed on the pavement but grip, support and traction on the trails. The whole concept behind the X-Scream is that city running doesn’t need to be boring. It doesn’t need to be flat and it doesn’t have to involve checking your garmin every three minutes to make sure you are running quickly. City running can involve steps, hills, parks and so on. It can have variety and it can make running fun, exploring new places in your own backyard.

The
salomon xa pro 3d gtx herren outlet is available online in the US including Running Warehouse here. The Sonic Pro 2 and Sonic is available at select speciality running stores in the US (list coming soon) and some online and speciality retail in other countries. The three models share many common traits and represent a logical progression in cushion and response from training to racing. They all have a similar firm and stable, responsive yet largely vibration/shock free and energetic ride. While all road shoes, Salomon's long time and storied trail running heritage is reflected in the design. Not to be mistaken these are not trail shoes but all the models can be easily go from door to trails without compromising road performance.

Salomon announced the
salomon x ultra gtx herren (and the slightly cheaper, slightly heavier Sense Pulse) earlier this year. The highly cushioned shoe, as described in the press release, sounded a lot like yet another Hoka-like offering from a brand that has, in the past, eschewed this highly cushioned trend in running shoes. In fact this shoe perhaps represents a bit of a “mea culpa” for Salomon since the founders of Hoka (Nicolas Mermoud and Jean-Luc Diard) were designers/executives with Salomon when Salomon chose not to pursue their design path toward maximum cushioned shoes. They left the company and started Hoka– the rest is obvious to even the casual observer.
